49th day

Yesterday I mentioned that the campsite was to the east of the island and that we were right on the beach, but what I didn't tell you is that behind us is the Corsica Natural Park, which occupies more than fifty percent of the island, so we have the sea in front of us and behind us rise the snow-capped peaks of the highest mountains that cut across the island.

Corsica has at least one hundred and twenty peaks over 2000 meters, and its mountains are one of the main reasons for its wild charm. It is often said that the island is a giant mountain surrounded by the sea, which once contained glaciers and through which more than twenty rivers flow, making water scarcity not a problem as it is in other Mediterranean islands 🤽‍♀️.
You can find more than forty lakes at different heights nestled among the rocks on a walk around its surroundings, with the highest being Lake Nino at 1,743 m. Most are of glacial origin and stand out for their unique geological characteristics, their great variety of ecosystems, and their accessibility through numerous hiking trails 🚶‍♂️‍➡️.

Today we enjoyed the sun and the beach, so the day was very peaceful. The sea was like a plate, and the swim was wonderful 🏊.
There is an enclosure with animals, and they encourage you to feed them the organic waste you generate as long as it is neither meat nor fish. Since we had leftovers from our Caesar salad for dinner last night, we went over to feed them.

We're not sure if they are pigs or wild boars, but except for the biggest one who was having a great time in the mud, all the others came to eat as soon as they realized we had “goodies” 🥖🥕🥒.

For the llamas, who roam freely in the enclosure, there was nothing left, so tomorrow we will start with them 🙂. For dinner, we had seafood salad enriched with our own additions, which was very good, and after finishing, the sunny day, sauna, and swimming we had made a difference in our bodies, so tonight we will sleep early and enjoy the freshly washed sheets (we did laundry too).
