Villaggio Mosè – Triscina
41st day
After the stone marathon we had yesterday, today we craved total calm close to the sea, and that's where we headed ☺️.

On the way, we stopped at La Scala dei Turchi or Stair of the Turk, about half an hour from where we spent the night. It is a cliff of white rock shaped like a staircase, sculpted over the years by the wind and the sea. The name comes from the incursions of Saracen pirates whom the locals referred to as "Turks." It is impressive to see, especially because it reflects the sun and small crystals from the limestone rock shine, giving the impression of being in front of a mirage 🪞.

After the stop, we headed to Triscina where I found a small camping site by the sea, to rest and enjoy the sea breeze ☺️.
Triscina is a relatively recent small village, so it doesn't have an old town worth seeing; it is mainly known for becoming a popular holiday area that formed along the shore of endless beaches with very fine sand and shallow waters ⛱️. Currently, the vast majority of the built houses are in the process of regularization.
I arrived relatively quickly and went to the beach for a while while T was on his way. As you know, his journey takes a bit longer because he likes to take routes through the mountains. The problem with Sicily is that the roads are terrible; some of them stressed him out so much today that he arrived tired. Riding on those roads requires a lot of concentration. He says that despite the beautiful landscapes, it’s not worth the risk.

A short walk to stretch our legs at sunset, and if T had accepted the challenge, we would have played a game of chess on a giant board that was in the children's area of the camping site ♟️, what a shame because I think we would have laughed a lot. The pieces were huge 😲.

Thorsten is exploring the local wines and has become quite fond of them. The thing is, since we move around so much, he never finds the same one because each region has its own.

Good night… I’ll keep you posted 😘
