Our first official outing in Sicily, and as I mentioned yesterday, Mount Etna, looming close at nearly 3,500 meters high, was our first stop. Lina and Gerhard, the couple of "riders" Thorsten invited for beers last night, have joined us.
Today we head straight to the village of San Giovanni to catch another ferry towards Sicily. Crossing the Strait of Messina. The last time I was in these latitudes, Mount Etna was in full eruption on a cruise heading to Greece.

I told you yesterday that we went to sleep before 11:00 PM, everything was perfect, silence had already taken over the village and it seemed like it was going to be a calm and perfect night when suddenly at midnight a group of young guys appeared, we don't know...
The perfect journey, we have arrived at port with Swiss punctuality, and we slept like babies. At first, when we changed our tickets, they told us there were no cabins available, and we accepted it 🤷♀️ but in the end, last night they assigned us a huge quadruple cabin at the bow of the ship with endless views that we have...
Tonight we’re taking a ferry to Brindisi (Italy) at the heel of the boot, just to give you an idea 👢🙃. We’re going to head to the tip (of the boot) to reach Sicily, which is our next destination.
This morning we headed straight to the workshop to change the battery. Thorqui and I arrived without any issues, and since they were already informed, they were super quick.
This morning we left early to avoid the rain that was coming our way. We still caught it, so although we initially planned to go straight to Igoumenitsa, in the end, the idea of stopping halfway and waiting out the wet front at the Thorqui shelter won out 😉.
An intense day among the rock formations and monasteries of Meteora, followed by our arrival in Delphi to visit its sacred city, its museum, and end the day with views of the valley and a Greek dinner.
